Default HID Lights

I was told that HID kits dont work on our year of truck (2003) and I am buying aftermarket lights that I want to put HID's in. Is it possible to do this installation with these headlights?

Yes HID's work on an 03. I would assume the aftermarket ones use 9007 bulbs like the stock ones. Those lights aren't my cup of tea but that's another discussion. Check out JonTo, he can get you all set up with HID kits and explain everything.

I'd like to latch on to this thread.

I just bought some Lightning style headlamps and some clear "Euro" style fog lamps.

If I add this Phillips HID kit, will there be too much scatter? Will it affect oncoming traffic?

More importanly, will I get an inspection sticker for having non-DOT approved headlights?

You'll have more scatter than a projector but will still be better than the stock housing. Aimed right they won't blind traffic. I don't know about inspection because the bulbs aren't DOT cert. If you put stock bulbs back in for inspection and change out after....

Yeah I want to run 8k HID's and I'm hoping that they will still be bright because my lights now are pretty bright as is. Also I want to have my fogs stay on while my brights and parking lights are on as well, but that's a total different issue. I think u just have to rewire the headlight/foglight. I think i can get these lights to work fine, when I do it i will be sure to do a write up
