Are you trying to save the original bars, or replacing them?

I pounded on mine for about 20 min before I thought hey, I need to use my air hammer. I sprayed the ends with WD40 and had lunch.. came back out and hit them with the air hammer and they came right out. I used a punch attachment. You may be able to rent one if you don't own one.. or they are cheap at Harbor Freight. Don't waist your time hitting them with a hammer. best of luck

Remember they are just dry fitted from the factor so a few years down the road they get a bit of rust and crap in there. The air hammer will work wonders.... no need to remove the X Member. now thats just a pain

well, i just decided to remove the cross member. it wasnt too bad, just 6 bolts. my problem is that the directions said to use a gear puller. it wasnt working out so i tried the c-clamp. i guess the c-clamp wasnt strong enough because it bent the threaded shaft. i just decided to put everything back together and let the mechanic do it for $40.

If he'll do it for $40 thats pretty good. A C clamp will not work.

I used a 5 ton claw puller and it was even hard with that. it just barely pushed the torsion bar far enough to get the bolt in.

Best of luck, post pics when its finished

PS. don't forget to get an alignment
