Default Help with temp control!

i have a 2003 Ford F150 xl. the problem im having is that the heat will not go from heat to cold. turning the temperature **** does not change the heat and we put new switch in it. well the guy i bought it from said ford said it was the motor that turns the flap we checked the motor and it does work but only if hooked up to battery and the switch is good what else could it be? some kind of sensor? (heat does work but only because we turned the flap manualy).

By the flap, do you mean the blender door?
