Default help with stuck rotor

I have needed new brakes aand rotors for a few weeks now, so I decided today was the day. I have never changed them myself and at 135*** this will only be the 3rd set of brakes. When I took the wheel off it was apparent how bad they were. Almost down to metal on metal. I changed the pads easily but cannot get the rotor off. I spent a few hours banging on it. I then tried the bolt through the caliper with washers and a nut truck. I ended up breaking bolts off in both caliper holes and the rotor lives on. I have soaked the inside with wd40 and banged... and banged... and stared and thought. So its on a jack stand in my driveway and I have now way to work in the morning. I don't know what else can be done.

Any ideas?

Also, I read somewhere thread lock should be applied to the caliper screws?

Thanks!

Sounds like its a 4wd. It is common for the rotors to rust to the hubs. I normally use a PB blaster and use a ball been hammer on the rotor hats. Then take a large 3lb hand sledge against the rotors. Eventually they will come off.

Yeah. Its 4x4.

Thanks for the advice. I was a little apprehensive about hitting too hard... 10 lb sledge later and it was on the ground. I have to say though after doing my first brake and rotor job I feel stupid for paying people to do it. Was way easier than anticipated.
