Default HELP!! Rims issue

I bought a set of polished aluminum rims, they are From another truck of our generation. All numbers match, 14 mm inset, 16x7J, 5x135, but to get them on it was actually taking material off the rim, we had to take the lugs and use the lugnuts to get the tire to set correctly on the rim. Will be a massive headache to get on and off. What’s wrong?? My truck has 14 mm lugs and I wonder if the rim is for a 12mm lug? Could that be it. What would be my course of action for getting that to fit properly?

What year is your truck, and what is the part number on the wheels (the first 4 digits will do)?

Shure sounds like you have 97-99 rims there.
