I have a 1998 f150 4x4, backed in to get my boat out of water. Went to pull out and did as follows: Put truck in neutral, shifted into four wheel low, put truck in drive, hit gas and engine just revved. Put it into 2nd and then first and same thing, it just revs. Got towed up into the parking lot and checked the shift linkage where it connects to the transmission, it's working. I can't put the truck into park because it starts to grind and any other gear it acts as if it's in neutral. I'm thinking electric shift motor but any ideas are appreciated as I need to get it home soon!!
