Default HELP: Diagnosing squeaking noise

'99 F-150 4.6 V8 automatic 4x4 esof

Here are the symptoms:

-squeaking noise happens when I step in the gas
-sometimes happens when I'm stopped
-disappears immediately when I let off the gas
-disappears when I put it in neutral
-the frequency seems to be related more to engine speed then vehicle speed

I have some ideas but I'd love to hear what you guys think.
Thanks for your help

Hadn't thought of the engine mounts, but i feel like I could get it to squeak in neutral if it was the mounts.

Could the torque converter make a squeaking noise?

You said engine speed not vehicle speed, BUT maybe it could be u joints. If it shifts in and out of park neutral drive etc rough thats prob what it is. I just replaced mine and no more squeak!

It happens while at a dead stop, u-joints were my first thought until it happened while I wasn't moving.

I did, however, get it to squeak a bit in neutral today. Does the fact that I got it to do this rule out trans trouble?

The engine mount is looking better and better. If it was an engine mount wouldn't the squeak be a little more random. Right now it squeaks at a regular frequency when it's in a slow acceleration.
