Default Help diagnosing a dying problem

Well the other day when I was leaving for work. I started the truck threw her in reverse and when I got to the end of the drive (about 10-15 ft) it died. It has done this once about a week ago and it started and ran fine since, until the other day. It cranks and turns over I went to the stealership and they said it would be 200 to even look at it. To hell with that I'm gonna save me some money. I just don't know if anyone else has ran into this problem before. Just trying to save a little money so I can throw it into the Harley. Thanks guys much appreciated.

Very well could be your idle air control valve (IAC valve) it's about a $100 dollar part. If it happens again try cranking and giving it some gas if it fires up and run but dies as soon as you let your foot off the gas then that's the problem. It's just sticking and not letting the truck idle. Hope this helps, screw the stealership, that's a rip off.

The iac valve is only two bolts and a plug. Easy swap. Some people say take it off and clean it but this only delays the problem by maby a week or two. If you replace the iac then replace the gasket too.
