Default help with a coolant leak

hello everyone and thanks for taking a look. so to begin i posted another thread about this maybe 2 months ago. i have a coolant leak on passanger side. it would be leaking around the motor mount and some would leak on to the frame rail. its been there for quite some time but obviously getting worse. i had my uncle check it out from underneath the truck he said it was a freeze plug but i let it be for some time then i took it to my dads buddies garage he thought it was the same. he removed the motor mount and called me saying its the head leaking. but just the other day i looked and noticed on the passanger side intake gasket had coolant on it. now the question is would intake gasket leak cause coolant to drip all the way back near motor mount or is it the head.

Without seeing the actual leak, it is not really possible to pinpoint this kind of problem. Usually, the intake will suck air or have a vacuum leak, but they do have coolant in them, so yes they can leak and run down the runners and off the backside of the block. Some are aluminum and others are plastic. The plastic ones have cracking problems, so YES, it could be from there.

If you have coolant leaks on both sides, you should consider ripping off both heads, replacing both head gaskets and both head bolt sets, then, if you have a plastic intake, consider replacing it with a new one. Better to do it all at once, and no have to go back into the engine again, if possible. Good luck.

yea I was worried the heads would need to come off. The good thing is I'm taking my vacation from my job in a month so maybe I can do it then. Do you know of any special tools required for this job all I know is the cam tool and crank puller
