help!!!!
cel on in the truck and mechanic says both banks lean wants to change out manifolds to fix problem
so what should i do??? check for vacuum leaks first or trust his judgement? 2002 4.6l

I see/hear stories about, stuff like this often...
A money hungry mechanic will actually perform the unnecessary work changing an intake manifold (or not and say he did) and in an instance similar to this, change the fuel filter which was the problem in the first place...
Or maybe he knows what he's talking about and is correct in his diagnosis... I don't know how long he had the truck or what tests he performed to come to this conclusion...
I've told friends to mark parts and make sure they were removed and not just shined up and caught people in lies this way... I have never brought a vehicle to a mechanic because I trust no one! Haha
