Alright so I went to work at 8 this morning and my truck was running fine. When I left work at 6 this afternoon I started my truck and its idleing rough . I put it in drive and it and it shakes really bad when I press on the gas and makes this weird noise. My check engine light came on too. What could this be? It's a 97 4.6

 

sounds like a coil or plug. whats the noise sound like?

 

Sounds like a miss but pull a code and let us know what it is autozone and places like that pull it for free with a printout that tells you what it is

 

yup yup, oreillys and advance autoparts will run the code as well.

 

It's hard to describe the noise it went away though. And alright ill have to go to oreillys tomorrow. Thanks guys ill let yall know what it was.

 

I found out it was the 3rd cylinder misfiring. I went ahead and changed all the plugs and wires. Runs super smooth like it used too.
