Default Heater core replacment

Ok so I changed my blend door and I took the easy way out and took off the glove box and cut in right there. But anyways can I change the heater core the same way?

I don't believe so. Your heater core sits in box with a few other things ( blower motor, other blend doors exc). You are going to have to unbolt the heater box (it unbolts into 2 peices,a top and a bottom) and to do that the dash has to come out because the heater core itself sits in its own little compartment. Once unbolted you will see the goodies inside, by this point you have already unplugged the heater core and it slides right out, swap the new one in, bolt the box back up and then the fun part of putting the dash back together comes along. I have had to do a heater core once in my jeep. Wasn't to bad. Took half a day and had a friends help who knows what hes doing with a wrench and we got it done. You save a lot of money doing it yourself and I Believe there are several youtube videos about this. But as far as I know, you actually have to take that heater box apart to actually get the heater core out. someone correct me if im wrong. Hope this helps.

And if you do do this yourself, dont go cheapo on parts. This is not something you want to do again in 6 months. I have seen my friends heater core go out 9 months after he spent a day getting the new one in because he went cheap on a heater core. Just some advice haha
