Default Heater core hoses

Hey everyone.
So this past weekend, I replaced the heater core and heater hoses with the quick connector. It all came back together fine, but now the hoses with the quick connector are spewing coolant if I turn off the heater. I’ve detached the hoses each and reattached, and it’s the same problem. I don’t know if the hoses aren’t seating right, but I just can’t figure why it would hold pressure from flow, but once the heater is off, I have such a huge issue.
I guess my questions are 1. Could those connectors be faulty? 2. If they are faulty, I don’t particularly want to gamble with another set, so is it possible for me to use basic hose and just get regular screw style hose clamps?

thanks for the help

Clamp it and call it good. I don't know the answers to your other questions without actually seeing/being there. But yeah, I'd clamp it and be done.

Clamp'em, that's what I did to mine. Mine leaked anytime the engine was running, don't see how yours wasn't either.

If you search old forum posts you will find that widely reported the aftermarket connections don't fit well and that you need motorcraft if you don't want leaks.

I purchased motorcraft. Mine don't leak. If the stock didn't leak for 15 years I figured that's reliable enough.

That is of course with the stock heater core too, an aftermarket heater core that has slightly different size tubing or something could make a difference .

But there is no problem with the right parts, guaranteed. Problems are caused by using inferior or damaged parts.

I think I’m just going to end up pulling the trigger on the hose clamps. Thanks for the advice everyone.

Definitely a circus contortionist act getting at those damn things, even with the quick connect. And the disconnect tool is getting harder to find.
