Default Heater

I went too Ford today to get a new key and asked if I could get a print out on my truck its a 1999 F150 4x4 with 5.4 and on the print out it says I have a Immersion Heater Motor what is that I know of a block heater and you plug that one in. Is that the same thing ? And where is it at?

Thanks
Scott

That's probably what it is. An immersion heater installs into a tank of liquid to heat fluid. 3 second google search to learn that.

Sounds like a block heater that would be installed in one of the freeze plug holes on the block.

Previous owner might have removed it and installed a freeze plug, as the heaters tend to leak a bit, over time.
