9007. Ha.

Any bulb you can buy off the shelf will produce about the same amount of visable light. I broke my trucks original silverstar yesterday, from Jan 2002. Bought a new one for $11.80. Unless you go with projectors, there isn't going to be much improvement.

New headlights might help. These are more of long distance brightness compared to stock:

You definitely got your money's worth out of those silverstars Tackle. I never had one last more than 9 months.

OP, as said, the best lighting improvement is getting clear headlight housings. As for the bulbs, that is a personal preference. Some like Silverstars (either the regular or the ultra), I have had good luck with Extravision and Nighthawks.

Please, please, please do NOT get plug-n-play HID bulbs. All you will do is blind other drivers and it looks like crap anyway IMO.

Lulz Tackle... Gotta love him. I replaced my bulbs that seemed to be original from the stamped date. Still worked too! I've got a set of ZXE's in mine I picked up from another member in here. Got them back in August, and he said they had 6 months on them. Been working fine, and put out some great light. I'd suggest them.
