Default Head Light Question

Howdy yall this is my first post and unfortunate that it is under these conditions. I have an '02 Lariat.... when I got to work this morning my lights would not turn off. They are always on the automatic setting but even when I turned them to off or just to the parking lights the headlights where still on. I can't get my lights to shut off so I had to disconnect the battery for the time so that I wouldn't drain it. I feel it is a sensor or a switch that has gone out. Anyone had this problem or know how to fix it or where to start?? To make it worse Murphy's law kicked in and it is pooring down rain so I was outside messing around under the hood in the rain

Thanks Yall for any help

Sounds like a bad switch to me.

I would suggest taking the switch apart and cleaning it. Sometimes you get some dirt and grime in there and it messes with the contacts. A little alcohol and some q-tips should handle that.
