Head gasket replacement help!
I have a 97 f150 xlt 4x4 with a 4.6. It has a 105,000 mi. and it runs like a top. I checked the oil yesterday and it was a quart low. I found the missing oil in the coolant overflow tank. There is no coolant in the oil. I plan on trying a head gasket sealer for a short term fix till I got the exta coin to fix it. It's not my daily driver so if the sealer does'nt work I'll just keep adding oil. My first question is can I pull the heads without pulling the motor? #2 is what tools do I need besides your basic tools? I hear you need special tools for the cams. What exactly do you need? Thers are so many differnt tools and kits I see on the net I'm baffled. Can I rent them anywhere? Autozone and advance does'nt have them and I hate to have to spend a hundred or two on tools I wont use again. #3 does anyone know of a step buy step how to on the net? Well everyone else on here seems to be happy with the site. And I would like for you to go to anotger f150 site and try to get good info. This one is by far the best and if you don't like then don't come back. Because we sure won't miss you and your crudy atitude.

i agree with turkey hunter and bcxlt i have been a member of a few different sites and this one is by far the best if you are looking for an instant answer go to a mechanic your knoledge will be filled in an instant just as quick as your wallet will be emptied
