yea i think id let the truck go....

Same here.

Maybe do a buy back from the insurance co...if I felt like repairing it myself.

Can be done IF the frame isn't bent past the cab.

My 97 4x4 SC got rear ended & totalled and I bought a 2000 4x4 SC same color and kept the 97 for parts.

That's great if it was worth it.

sad sad fathers day for sure haha, sue mustve hit the tree strait on with the frame horn...

No joke, my dad was lounging in the pool and I was shucking corn:

Dad: "Sounds like someone hit a trash can, wanna check?"

Me: "Nah"

and it was my mom 5 houses down the street  bed slammed into cab hard enough that it punctured it, engine compartment half the size it was before, etc.

Yeah, cost $1200 to buy it back. But I had brand new suspension, fresh tranny, extra t-case, axle, etc.. I'd pay far more for parts from a salvage yard. Transfered many of the parts to the new truck.

Yea, I remembered , just didn't spell it right. As long as the frame is okay past the firewall and depending upon how twisted the front of it is, it may easier making a trip to the bone-yard and cutting some new frame pieces to swap and weld in.

But yea, depends...

The other driver was unlicensed, so you would think that we would win the suit. However, my wife says that we would spend more money suing the other party than we would get for truck. And it's the lawyers that make out most in these suits, anyhow. So we'll just fix it and try to forget about it. Thanks.

What do you mean "buy back"? The truck is paid for and I have the title. I've never heard of this "buy back". What is that?

Thank you for your input on this. I might have to have some one do that for me, and the welding, but the rest of the parts and pieces I can put on myself.
