Default Hard starting

Having problem with starting my 1999 -150 5.4L. Takes 10-15 3-4 second starter bursts to start. After starting, it runs fine, no stumble or miss. Have changed fuel filter, had fuel system power cleaned and run "Sea Foam" additive through system, and changed Fuel Pump fuse under hood and nothing seems to help. Would think if fuel pump was problem, it would not run so smooth after starting. Any ideas on my problem?

Air filter and MAF cleaning as mentioned above good idea and low cost. Do a test and see if you are getting good spark when it is turning over. if not, could be your crank shaft sensor or cam sensor. if these are dirty and not giving a good signal, your PCM will not know when to send spark and therefore; no spark. I am thinking that as you turn it over, the sensor improves and then starts. These sensors are generally easy to change and they cost about $25 each.

If it starts at all, you have spark. Engines need 3 things to run. Spark, fuel, and air.

You have spark so I wouldn't worry about ignition parts.

As far as fuel goes, you may have a clogged filter. You may have a fuel pump on the edge if going out. Get the required tools and check your psi from the fuel rail at startup and when its sat for 6+ hours without being started.

Anything air wise, you should be able to do a visual look over. Look at the filter, is it dirty. Spend $10 to get some MAF cleaner and properly clean your MAF.

Make sure when you get it started that you leave it running for 30+ mins because I bet that battery is damn near dead from cranking it all that time.
