Default gryphon and octane

Ok so I got my gryphon the other day. I have to send my hex code in to get my custom tunes. Anywho i normally run 87 octane but wanted to try out the 93 octane performance tune. Ok well get get some 93 and go for it one might say. The problem here is this best i can get is 91 octane with out spending a quarter tank of fuel one way, 92 if im lucky. Is this acceptable or no?

I have the same problem here, but I'm just going to buy octane booster and see how that works. I don't see why it wouldn't.

Fuel and all that stuff is way beyond me i can tinker all day but this seems like it could potentially mess things up quite a bit so I dont really want to do anything till I know.

91 octane should be fine, just don't adjust the timing or mash the pedal.

If you hear pre-ignition, back off the throttle.

If i am not to mash the pedal or anything why would I use the 93 perf tune I cant imagine that I would get hardly any mpg gain from it over what im using now, correct? Sometimes I venture over to the kansas side where drivers suck (sorry if any kansans read this but you know its true, may as well drive chebbies) and i just need to "get on it" from time to time. Would 92 with octane booster get it up to par as jensen suggested?

Just wait until you get your custom tunes. Another option is to try it. If you hear pre-ignition, retard the timing slightly.

Did you tell Bill that you can only get 91 octane?

Even when you get your custom tunes, you probably won't see enough MPG increase to justify 91 octane.
