Got my truck, now what?
Alright guys I just bought my first F150! Its a great looking truck but its completely stock. I'm just wondering on what you guys would suggest I start doing first? Are there any recommended performance mods I should do? What about cosmetic mods ie: Bullbar, brush guard etc? It's got brand new Nitto Terra Grapplers so it doesn't need tires which would be my first mod. The only things I've done so far are a thorough cleaning and touching up all the deep scratches.
Here's a pic to let you know what I'm working with. http://sphotos-a-atl.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...41757299_n.jpg |

Lift it 4", Plastidip the badges. Off road lights. That would look sweet for starters. Nice truck, you'll love it.

Level it, black or chrome lightning headlights, depending on your preference, 08+ Superduty tail lights. No bull bar, you'll kick yourself constantly for being without tow hooks

I'd say get a good exhaust! Flowmaster or Magnaflow. Maybe even a Borla. The best thing about these older model F-150's is mods ain't TOO terribly expensive. Obviously u can get into high dollar with those exhausts, but they have some relatively good sounding ones for descents prices. Single inlet, dual outlet with some nice chrome tips should really make it look good and sound even better. Might even make it a lil peppyer and breathe easier with less back pressure.

Definitely checking in on some exhaust shops around here. Around here we don't have noise ordinances so it can never be too loud ;) But really if you don't have to worry about the po po or inspection, I would start with a muffler delete and Y it into duals. If you want to go louder later, cut the rear cats. |

Yep I think you're right, got em confused with my buddies tires. Offroad lights are definitely a good idea! And thanks I love it already! Those lightning headlights look awesome I cant decide if I want black or chome either looks awesome! I didnt know the superduty tail lights would fit, and what about a brush guard does that take the space of tow hooks also? Thanks for all the info! |
Ditch the nerf bars and the bug guard, paint the grill black, smoked tail lights and maybe black head lights. A stainless bull bar with some off road lights would also look good, the bar I have allows me to keep my tow hooks. I'd also tint the front windows to match the extended cab windows.
