Default got a few questions for all you painters out there

my plan is to paint it myself but just wondering how much itd be paint wise i plan on painting it black

question one - i know theres different colored blacks out there but which one looks the best
question two- since im doing it myself how much do all you guys think the paint would be

i figure paint prices vary on color and since black is a regular color i figure itll be hopefully cheaper then most

You gotta know what your doing if you want to paint your truck the right way. I just did mine with help of a buddy that does it for a living. Need a paint booth, spray gun, compressor, and all the material. Cost was $645 for material and that was not including the sandpaper, cups, or any of that. If you want to find out price of just the base coat, call your local body shop supply store with the paint code you want and they can give you a price. Took 1 gallon on my crew cab.

For my reg cab I used a gallon of base coat. black is the cheapest which was $100 a gallon. Then you'll need a gallon of clear coat and a quart of activator. That's around $130. Black is also the hardest to paint, you have to get the air pressure perfect or else you'll get orange peel. Then you have to wet sand and buff.

I just used a harbor freight hvlp spray gun. Be sure to get a good respirator too
