glove box issue

Default glove box issue

hey is there anyone else having issues with shutting their glove box. i just about have to slam the hell out of it to get it shut. my truck is a 1999 xl 4.2l standard. if so is there anyway to adjust it so it shuts better?

yeah my 97' does is hard to but I dont use it very often so its not a big deal but if someone knows how to fix it that would be great.

i store my cigs in there so i am atleast in it once a day it is really getting to be a pain in the ***.

my 97 f150 does the same thing, its just a lift up and slam type of thing, thats how i've always closed it

Talking Mine to

Dunno what the problem is with these glove boxes. Mine does the same on a 99 ford f-150.Have to try wd-40 works on everything else or a lil oil .

Well came home after work sprayed wd-40 on latch and it was fixed.Shut it several time and didnt have to slam it.i would use an oil based lubricant but didnt have it just that wd wears off faster.Let me know if it works .

Yea i didnt even think bout it till i read the thread.I said ill try to lube it up a lil and it worked.I never really used it much unless a cop asked for insurance and title.Makes me feel a little better knowin i dont have to slam the hell out of it.
