Default Glasspack or not???

for years now i have thought that i have had a glasspack muffler on my truck, i bought the truck from some guy and forgot to ask him what kind of muffler it has and unfortunately i dont have his phone number anymore..... ive gotten under the truck several times and looked at the muffler and it has no markings on it whatsoever of any company name or logo or anything.. i really have no clue what the hell it is and its bugging the sh** out of me because when my friends ask what kind of muffler it has on it i just say, a glasspack.. i think? is there a way i can tell what kind of muffler it is because from what it looks like to me is some kind of off brand glasspack. It looks cylindrical almost like a bigger piece of pipe welded in the middle of the exhaust system. I would take some pictures of it and put it on here, but for some reason this website keeps on telling me that my pictures failed to upload..

it looks like a "turbo" muffler. similar to a glass pack, but not as loud.

When you put the image on your computer just open it with some image editing program or set you camera to take smaller/less fin pictures. and the "glass" has nothing to do with it its just cylindrical instead of rectangular box.

The black cylinder fastened to the pipe is , for lack of a better word , a harmonics dampener . Knocks down some of the annoying harmonics/vibrations in the exhaust system . When I changed my exhaust system over , I had to play a little to find the "sweet" spot . If your system is loud enough , you might be able to leave it off , but it can reduce some of the resonance in the cabin .

jacobs4x4, have you ever heard of a glasspack muffler?? thats what they are called. i was thinking that my muffler is a glasspack muffler because it is cylindrical and not rectangular like other mufflers http://nissannut.com/projects/headers/glasspack.JPG if you look at that the glass pack is a cylinder (like mine) and the normal muffler isnt. i wasnt saying that the muffler was glass or anything, i understand what a glasspack is.. o yea and thanks for the help on the pictures

It is a muffler that is packed with fiberglass. The older the glasspack is, the louder it gets cuz the fiberglass burns out. All it really does is muffle the sound a little bit, but is a little louder than say a flowmaster muffler, I think, dont quote me on that.
