Question GEM or Body Control Module

This is my first post. I just acquired my 1997 F150 XLT Supercab. The engine is the 5.4. Power windows, door locks and AC work. Not everything works, which I knew. No 4WD, door open chime
and some of the dash lights. The 4WD light stays on 4LO even though it isn't. Somewhere along the history of this truck the GEM was replaced. Trouble is it isn't the correct one. I have no idea what the correct one should be. I tried doing a forum search. I appeal to the vast knowledge out there to help me find the correct part.

Since there were no replies, I had to take my chances. I bought a used GEM, F85B-14B205-NA. It worked for a minute until I put the fuse box back in place. I turned the key and the wipers were on with the switch off. I ended up putting the GEM back in that came in the truck.

I am a little bit confused about the comment "It worked for a minute until I put the fuse box back in place". The GEM is part of the fuse box, so I am just trying to figure out if you removed the box under the hood, or what exactly you mean? Just trying to figure this out.

Do you suspect the original module got wet?
