Default Gear Ratio question

I have 33/11.50's on my truck now and it seems to be doing a lot of gear searching. I want to get 35/12.5's. What do i have to do to change my gear ratio and how much will it set me back? I am not very familiar with this.

well when i had 33 it was kinda sluggish but now that i have 35s its very sluggish i have the stock 3.55 ratio an i will eventually regear to 4.56s
an it depends if its 4wd im assuming it is so u have to do both front and rear but an exact price idk

For 4wd...you're probably looking at close to $800-1200.

4.56s would be ideal to compensate for the added circumfrence and weight of 35s

I re-geared my truck myself to a 4.56 ratio for my 37" tires and it's back to stock performance. I paid $40 for the rear gears (a friend had em and was never going to use them) and 120 for the front set. Maybe about 60 bucks in replacement bearings, sealant and oil. A 4.10 ratio would put 35's back in the stock performance band, a 4.56 would be a little extra. With my 37's I'm cruising at about 65 in 5th gear at around 2500ish rpm.

My truck currently has the H9 (3.55 - LS) and currently planning on ordering 6in lift and running 35x12.50s. Found this thread when I was searching for recommended gears with that combination.

Would yall recommend swapping in a locker when I am getting the gear done? I searched and didn't really find any threads that answered my question. This truck is my daily driver and at this current moment doesn't see a lot of offroading but in the future it will but will remain a DD.

I was hoping I could use the Detriot Tru-Trak I have still in the box that I was going to install in my 2001 Bullitt but I found that the rear ends are different.

EASY, add another $500, if you take it to a shop that that knows how to really do it right and dial it all in like it needs to be.

I went with 4.10's running a 35" tire and 5" lift and it is MUCH better than the stock 3.55's but its not great, I really wished I had gone with the 4.56's, you won't regret it since these trucks have such a steep overdrive.

To have the front and rear gears swapped, all the parts and labor you are looking at at least $1500-2000. Heck the gears alone are $250 a set and the fluid is $18qt... If its done right then the seals will all be replaced as will the pinion and carrier bearings.
