Default Gas cap oops

ok, so on my way from the dump to my home I decided to stop and get gas.
Pulled up to the pumps, and when I tried to remove the gas cap, I snapped the top portion off. The bottom portion is still in the filler neck.

Any suggestions on the best way to remove that bottom portion? It seems to be pretty stuck.
Second, is FC-975 the correct cap for my 2001 F150 screw 4x4?

I haven't really tried man-handling it yet, at least not until a get a replacement to slap onto it.

I always have a spare one in my truck..... Because I take them off and put them on the corner of my bed/cab when I put gas in and sometimes they fall onto the concrete and broke. I've had one that broke just while it was on the filler neck... It was probably dropped a few times true but it wasn't broken when I put it on there

Or you could just get the one with the lanyard so it doesn't go anywhere...

Ok, so all is well. Got the bottom half out, it didn't take as much heat as I thought it would......

Anyhoozle, none of the local stores had a Motorcraft one in stock, so I settled for a Duralast cap. The guy at the Autozone gave me a discount because I wanted the Motorcraft one. So that's a bonus.
I'm not sure what I did though, I must of had it unlocked at the gas station and then kept twisting it and then snapped the top off, because when I went to take the bottom part out it came out fairly easily.
