Fuel Pump Function In Relation to ECM

I'm doing a V8 swap in my 1997 F150. Is there a function between the ECM (computer) and the function of the fuel pump? Will I get full fuel pump function without input from the ECM?

Doubtful I don't know about these specific trucks but you'll get a short 3 to 5 sec burst from the key on cycle but nothing else the PCM controls the relay after that
