I replaced my fuel pump and there is no easy way around it. U have to disconnect the wires and filler neck, drop the tank with a jack (if u got more than a eighth tank I'd siphon) and then remove the fuel pump. It took me 8 hours but thats for an inexperienced backyard mechanic. Good luck

Also another way around it is to remove the bed to get to it but I think this would take longer

When I did it I dropped the tank. Wear some gloves so your hands don't turn black. And it takes some grease to put the filler tube back on. It's pretty straight forward though. Just takes a while

its really not hard at all! like stated before siphon the gas out put a jack (or two one on each side if you have access), undo the straps, lower about 6 inches undo filler, fuel lines, and wires going to fuel pump. drop the rest of the way and pull it out from under the truck. replacing the pump is pretty self explanatory from there. now is a great time to clean out any gunk that might be in the bottom of the tank as well as changing the fuel filter. Honestly i did it about 2 months ago in about two hours.
