Exclamation Fuel lines stuck on filter. Please help!

Hello. I have a '97 F-150 and am desperately trying to change the fuel filter. I tripped the inertia switch and purchased a set of filter removal tools but the fuel lines will not come off of the old fuel filter. I can get the fuel lines to back off about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch but that's as far as either will go. I've worked the connection back and forth so much that the old filter is now ruptured on the tank (upstream) side. I need my truck to get to work in two days time. Any help is greatly appreciated! All local garages are closed until Monday. Please help!

Get a can of PB Blaster and soak both ends of the filter. Sounds like things are rusted in there.

I soaked the fuel connections and then had my wife get a metal filter disconnect tool from NAPA. That did the trick. New filter's in place and I can stay employed! Thanks for the tips, ya'll are the best.
