Default Fuel Lines

The short (12" or so) bendable section of fuel line leading from my fuel pump to the metal fuel line has snapped. Am I able to replace just this section instead of the whole line ? The connection at the bendable section and the metal fuel line is different than the standard fuel line connections (that require that special tool). The coupling is a lot smaller. Anyone have experience with replacing this section of line ? If possible, do you know what tools I need to remove and replace it ?

Thanks in advance for your help

Same thing happened to me. I ended up taking a pair of bolt cutters, snapping the end of the steel fuel line off above the broken braided line, and then running a piece of fuel injector hose from the steel fuel line to the fuel filter.

Not OEM, but it works just fine for me. Been several years and everything is holding up like a champ.

What did you use to secure the hose. Did you have to flare the end of the steel fuel line after you cut it ?

I didn't flare them. I just used fuel injector hose clamps (2 on each end) and everything was good.

The only thing I made sure of was that the steel fuel line that I cut off still held its original circular shape. It took a decent amount of effort to get it as round as possible but it ended up pretty good. Then I just slid the hose about 2 inches over the fuel line and clamped it off. No loss in power, mpg or anything else.

Just make sure to use fuel injector hose. If you don't specifically ask for it they will try to give you something else and the gas will eat right through it. Then tell them you need injector hose clamps for that size hose and you are all set.
