Default Fuel Gauge Issues

Hi all,

Sorry if this has already been addressed before but Im having some issues with my fuel gauge. I needed to replace the fuel tank so I did so making sure everything went back together correctly. I started my truck, the fuel pump worked fine, truck started as I was able to drive it. Then I realized my fuel gauge wasn't working. I went under there today, unplugged the sending unit from the truck, turned the truck on and it read full. This tells me the truck portion of the system is working fine? I had a spare fuel pump that I plugged in to the trucks harness and lifted the float and it read empty still. I'm trying to avoid dropping the tank again. Any ideas what the problem is? in summary, I would assume that based on the truck reading full when unplugged means the harness and fuel gauge in the dash is fine. And the fact that the pump kicks on when truck is turned on and is drive-able means that the pump and the wires gong to the clip are fine. Maybe my assumptions are wrong. Any help is appreciated.

Thank You
