So i having trouble getting my fuel filter off of my 98 4.6. I have the special tool to push into those fittings, but I can only get one of them off. the other one wont slip off. I have tried using wd 40 and still it wont budge. Could it be that the springs are bad or something in the connector? Its very fustrating I've tried at it for an hour already. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. Thanks

 

I just recently replaced my fuel filter and also had a problem getting the hose off the engine side. I just pushed the tool in all the way and gave the hose a good tug and it seemed to come off.

 

I did mine a month ago...one side came off no problem..the other not so much. I got the tool all the way pushed in and twisted it around and then I just took the filter out of the holder and spun it around for a minute and it just popped off. Hope that helps.
