Default Front wheel hop

Does anyone have any tips for cutting down on front wheel hop? Whenever I'm off-roading and climbing stuff, I grit my teeth when I hit a hole near the top or breach the top itself and the truck tries to buck me off. I've gone through countless cv shafts because of this too. I've even thought of swapping for a solid axle and selling my lift to offset the costs. I guess it irks me even more than usual since my truck is also manual. When the buck starts, I have to stop, and since I can't work three pedals at once, I have to back the truck up all the way to the bottom and start again. How do you guys deal with this?

Your going through cv axles because chances are you torsion bars are cranked way more than they should be. And is causing extreme stress. Crank them down some and it will help.

They were cranked up when I bought the truck and have since brought them down a pretty good amount. I started thinking maybe a new set of shocks would help out since they dampen and resist the change in direction when a wheel wants to travel up.

It may help some. Take a picture of your cv axle angle. I bet it's angled pretty hard. I've snapped 1 cv axle and that was when I had my aftermarket keys cranked an extra 2"...

Look for a manual hand throttle.

Then you can work three pedals at once. Whats you're tire pressure set at?

You will encounter the same thing with a solid axle. Loosing traction and regaining it will still have the same effect. The sudden shock of gaining traction has been known to snap U joints in solid axles too. Some times less throttle is better. Lower tire pressure for better traction? Better tires? Oh, and three pedals are not difficult to master. Go find some hills on the atreet and practice not rolling back. You can use the parking brake to hold the truck on the hill. Or find the friction point of the clutch and hold it there while you release the brakes and apply the throttle.
