front left clicking
I have a 2002 ford f 150 xl with a 6 inch lift, the front left axle shaft was clicking becouse the boot was torn and all the grease flew out, i got the whole shaft replaced and it clicking again, there is no tears in it either, any ideas.
When it wasnt lifted it didnt click at all, but anout two weeks after the lift was put on it started to click only when i turned to the left, the left upper boot was ripped bad and all the grease flew out. so i got the shaft replaced and the clicking stopped for about two and now it started to do it a little bit, not to bad but i only notice it when i turn to the left.
Can you see anyplace where the boot might rub? Does your kit actually have 6 inches of lift in the front or does it total 6 inches when you crank the torsion bars too? Did your kit come with spacers to go between the axle and the inboard CV joint? The Inboard joint is the one that telescopes in and out. If it is being extended too far eventually it will start to click when you turn.

Can't really say if we don't know what the problem is. My first thought is (I'm going to quote my mind here) "yes it can be fixed because it's not supposed to click, and I would be concerned"
Like the above post asked "Is noise present when jacked up and wheel is turned by it's self" In other words:Lift the front of your truck off the ground and turn the wheels with your hands and see what happens with your wheel turned all the way to the left.
Also. Who installed your lift? You way want to consult with them...They might know exactly what this problem is if it's a common occurrence with this particular lift and make/model of vehicle. It's also entirely possible they made a mistake during installation. Have them look over it again. Being that it was a shop that did it I'm sure they would back their work, and check it out for free.

They are trying to tell you to jack it up so you can start diagnosing the promblem... How else are you gonna find out where the clicking is originating??? drive down the road and open your door and hang your head out by the nerf bars?? whether it happens when it's jacked up or not, at least you might be able to take a peek while the wheel is spinning... geez who knows maybe one of those ball joint guards broke and is hangin out and it's rubbing on the raised letters on your tire... how the H3ll would you know if you don't jack it up and manually spin the wheel?!?!?! that'd be pretty embarassing if it was somethin stupid like that and you brought it in then again you might not know cus they might just take ya for a ride cuz it'd be obvious ya didn't jack it up and look!!
