Default Front left brake burning?

Hello everyone,

Great to be part of this community.

I have a 1998 5.4L 4x4 Black extended cab Lariat F-150 (213k miles and going strong).

I took a casual drive today for about 20 minutes on the freeway. I felt the truck pulling to the left very slightly (car drove normal besides that).

When I got home, I smelled burnt brakes. I took a look and it was only my front left. It was very hot to the touch. Any ideas here? I called the service guy I know at the dealer and he said it could be a caliper, and could cost around $500.

Any ideas?

THANK YOU!

Caliper or hoses. My guess is a caliper

Either the caliper or the hose as stated above. The hoses may look fine but they deteriorate internally and don't allow the fluid and pressure to return after brakes have been applied.

Stuck caliper. Happened to me.

Pull it, clean it and grease it up. Or for piece of mind throw a new caliper on.
