Default Front End Suspension question

I'm looking at replacing my front end suspension components on my 2001 rwd screw with 253,000 miles. The front end seems loose compared to my 2003. I've worked on vehicles but have never changed the front end suspension parts. I see kits out there with the ball joints, control arms, and tie rod ends. Which parts would be the most beneficial to change? Thanks

All of them!- there are threads here that will guide you easier/quicker than i can.-use your search function- most of the new replacement parts will have grease fittings, thats a real benefit to replacing old/worn parts as well.
Simple tools and a picklefork spreader along with a jack and stands is about all you would need (along with a dose of perseverance)! to get the job done.
If you try it yourself, take pics, keep us in the loop!

People seem to love moog but I've had terrible luck with their lower ball joints. I'd suggest going OEM Motorcraft on the lower ball joints (hardest to change) and use Moog/TRW/whatever on the tie rods and uppers.

I've had my eye on the new Mevotech Terrain Tough lowers. They look like a big upgrade to me.

Its relatively easy job depending on how you do it.
The most important tools are a 2-3 lb hammer, and earplugs.

This is true. I bought a few parts at a time until I had all of them. I did buy Moog and had no problem. It has been over a year and I recently greased them. You will notice a big difference in the ride when you do it. If you have an air compressor and an impact gun it will help. If not you will need a breaker bar. Those bolts are on very tight. I would also change shocks and ball bearrings. My truck felt brand new again after I re did front end. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I see kits on ebay that don't include the lower control arms, just the lower ball joints. Are the lower control arms necessary to change?

I would stay away from those ebay kits personally, I snagged the pitman arm from a kit my friend got since he didn't need it and it had pretty bad wear withing a couple months, also felt a solid pound lighter than the oem. I would go with moog/motorcraft

No, you just change the lower ball joint.
