Front differential problem
The diff needs to be removed from the truck to replace the bearing. You should replace all 3. There are 3 torrington bearings in the front axle assembly. The carrier doesnt need to be removed to replace them. But you will either need a press or a quality bearing puller to remove them.
Maintaining the front diff included changing the fluid. If it ever gets water in the axle it will destroy the torrington bearings real quickly.

The fluids been changed every 50k so 3 times since we've had it. No water has ever been in it. I was just wondering what other maitnance would be done besides changing the fluid cause I didn't think there was any. Thanks for the help man
Edit: I do have access to a press and an about 90% sure I have a bearing puller that will work

If using a press you will need to do a complete disassembly. If using a bearing puller you should be ok with leaving the carrier in the assembly. I recommend a bearing puller. You will need a case spreader to get the carrier out.
Ok thanks for the help man. I'm gonna try to find time to pull the whole diff out and start taking a look at it. I'm most likely gonna pull it out Tuesday.
