Front diff type
I was just wondering if anyone knew how to tell what type or diff you have on your truck. I'm not sure what mine is. My back is 3:55 LS but idk about the front. Is there a code on the door? Or just have to take it somewhere to find out??

^^^^^ agreed..The 2 diff gear ratios must match very closely..if not exactly in order to prevent breakage. So the front will be a 3.55 also. The question seems to be asking what kind of diff. So you should have the 8.8" in the front and i believe it's a reverse rotation also.

No biggie..
..willing to bet it's open..i know the 87-92 style could be ordered with a LS in the front, but only in a certain gear ratio if i remember..but my money is still on that it's open.
