how do you remove the actuator from the front diff to change it. its a 1997 with the front 8.8. thanks.

 

First go buy some good penatrating oil. Remove the plastic cover to see the whole actuator. remove the rubber boot over the plunger. there are 2 C-clips one large one small. Remove both. Remove vacuum lines from the top of it (remembering blue on passenger side/red on drivers side) get a screw driver and gently pry the plunger off the little lever that goes to the diff and push the plunger back (to the passenger side of the vehicle). Now get a punch or drift and hammer it out of the housing
