Default Fried Instrument Cluster

My 2000 F150 has a burnt out (fried) circut on the instrument cluster and no longer works. From this website I understand the PATS will not let me install and used cluster and drive away after.
So is just a simple matter of taking to the dealer for a recalibrate after install of used cluster or what is all involved in this process.
I was tracing a non working signal light and a may have caused this myself.

Does anyone know of a company that repairs these clusters?

Thanks

I had a new key made for my truck, and a locksmith came to my house and used a laptop to add the new key into PATS. Maybe you can find a locksmith to come do that for yours. I know Ford hit my son for $150 to add a key to his Ranger.

Thanks for the info. I talked to one of my ford dealers in town today, and they quoted me $60.. so thats not to bad. Got a used cluster ordered so may have working by week end.
