Yes H9 = Synthetic 75/140 w/4 or 6 oz's of modifier (I think it's 4). Whatever the operators manual spec is. I think that's it. Download the manual if you don't have one.

The ORIGINAL Axle Lubricant from the factory was
Fuel Efficient High Performance (FEHP) SAE 75w-90 & XL-7 Friction Modifier
Replace by
High Performance Synthetic SAE 75w-140 & XL-3 Friction Modifier

There are several TSB about this. Try searching...

Recommended Engine Oil Viscosity: 5w30 according to the owner's manual. Your choice.

Actually for the H9 set up, it specs just 75/140. That's it, no other choices.

5w 30 isn't the recommended anymore. Ford informed us of better, enough to change the recommended across all gen 10's. That was, many many moons ago, - 2000/2001 via TSB which was retroactive for the 97 + model years. Of course you can 5/30...It works, just not as good as 5/20. In most cases 5/30 fell short on wear ratings in comparison. I guess you get a little better mileage w/ 5/20. Very little, don't care about that. Better wear ratings, oh yea - it's a keeper lol.

Wolvez.... for a guy that's quick to point out TSB's, you sure don't seem to give a crap about the 5W-20 TSB.
