Default Frame Repair Job

Hey Guys, I have a 00 f150 with a 5.4 at 127,000. I love this truck and want to save here from rusting out. The body isn't too bad; I even got a new bed when I bought it way up in the mtns past Morgantown wv (reason for rust).

So the worst spots for rust are the flat, horizontal bottom section of the c channel. That area right above the front leaf hangars and far ends of the frame rails and cross member connecting the gas tank are bad.

Im gonna take some pictures tomorrow but what is the best way to patch the area where the two pieces of frame rail meet with the tank crossmember. Im a pretty good welder but havnt done frame work and worried about messing up the alignment.

Legally you aren't suppose to weld on frames. Post up some pics and we will get you going in the right direction.

ok here they are. the spot above the passenger side hangar is the worst the rest looks capable of being cleaned up except the holes on the cab mount area

As far as I can tell the frame looks ok. I'd jack the body up and grind/POR15 the frame. The only spots that I can see that aren't surface are the bed crossbraces.

think even the first picture is ok? that's the only spot on the frame that concerns me because its peeling apart.

is por 15 a good product? it solidifies the metal right?
