Default four wheel drive doesn't work

Okay here's my problem. When I switch from two wheel drive to four wheel on a solid road as in a drive way or parking lot four wheel engages. Now when I'm in mud or sand and try to switch from two to four wheel I can hear it engage but will not pull. Tires don't spin and I'm stuck right away. Ive got to get this fixed due to bailing season and the fields bring muddy as hell. Please help... thanks in advanced.

have you inspected your front diff actuator? or the vacuum pumps and lines up at the firewall on the pass. side behind the battery?

Seems like everything is good. Plus if there was a crack in the line or disconnected it wouldn't let the accuator do its job would it? I can hear the clunk from the transfer case when I engage four wheel drive and it seems to be working but the front tires won't spin.

ya that because the vacume shift fork on the front diff needs removed and lubed and worked back and forth till it moves freely again. done it on both my trucks and always fixes the 4x4.
