Fog lights
My 1997 has fog lights that work by turning on the headlights and then PULLING the **** for on.

My 2000 has fog lights BUT the switch that came with the truck will not pull out. Not certain if the previous owner changed the switch or if it is a OEM switch.

In other words, the fog lights do not come on. Any ideas?

What am I missing? No matter what I turn or pull or push I don't get fog lights to come on?

 

Right. That icon lights up on my switch when I pull the **** out, which means it’s wired for fogs. The rest…I refer to my prior post.

 

Is there also a missing or busted relay or fuse perhaps keeping them from powering up?

Your 2000 needs a switch similar to the 1997 switch. You can probably pop it from the 97 into the 2000 to test the lights work. Not sure how difficult the switch is to remove.

 

He doesn’t have the right switch in the first place in the 2000.

Why he has lights and not the right switch is the real question to ask.

 

​​​​​​Yep. My guess is the switch broke on previous owner and he replaced it with the wrong switch and it didn't bother him enough to fix it. Some folks just don't do much night time driving or have to deal with inclement weather during their commute.

So what turns on the fog lights?

 

The left switch, positions listed are off, parking lights, and low beams. When in low beams position, pull **** to turn on fogs. See the little triangle. Should work same as your 1997 switch its just has a picture instead of "pull for fogs."
