Flareside Tie downs?
I have a 99 Flareside..But the Flareside bed doesn't have the stake holes that the Standard bed has. It has a boat cleat on the in side bottom of each corner of the bed,Which I can't even hook a ratchet strap to.I really want something to hook to on the top of the bed. Wondering what you guys with Flareside use? Thanks in advance for any info.

My flareside has rings in the bottom four corners from factory..
The main reason that ford doesn't put cutouts on the rail is because you can't put them on. The flareside is not metal like a regular box; its fiberglass. If you put rings in, once you put any pressure on the strap, crrrack
To solve the issue, i kept my rear hooks and added a cross-box tool box and put some rings on it
it works ok i just have to be creative with my tie down techniques haha. Hope this helps a little..

yeh The bull rings are sweet had them on my 02. I would even care if they weren't flush mount. I had a load of lime rock in the back last week and I could even get to the stupid cleats to cover the load. I have seen the flare sides with rails on them. So they must have someway to mount them. I am not trying to tow with them just would be nice to be able to hook a bungy S hook or a ratchet strap to. Not having to dig to the bottom of bed to secure/cover things. Defiantly a poor design on Fords part.
