I thought you were going to lower the truck, not lift it. Lowered for a "street-scene" look I think would've carried them better. The Harley-style headlights will be a nice next step.
..
Yeah the lift will help with getting underneath for the oil changes those running boards were a pain in the butt at the stock height

Looks clean the way it is, flares wouldn't do anything for it IMO. I like the ride height.

I like the flares, because they tie the silver lowers together front to rear. It just seems to flow better.

My '99 shortly after I bought it.

Bama - I've never really been a fan of running boards. They seem clunky to me, and you can't kick the snow off your shoes on them without scuffing them up (not that you have to worry about that).

You know, I looked again, and maybe no flares *is* the way I'd go. (Of course, I'd also lose the steps and lower it, so what do I know?)

My old truck came with those all black plastic running boards from the factory or a dealer add on, can't remember which. Wasn't really a big fan, once the hardware began to rust I offed them. The truck looked so much better.

It just depends, if I find a good set (already in the silver metallic color) at a place like Pull-Apart for the right price I may grab them otherwise I'll pass on drilling any holes for those tabs that help hold it in place.

I hope your not too offended bama98. The ride height and stance is dead on IMO,- as far as looking the best for the 2wd version of these trucks. Great job! Opinions vary greatly on the big rim thing, quite a few favor that look. What really matters is what you like of course.

Not at all Jbrew. I learn a lot off this forum on what to do and and how something would look. I posted so others could see what it would look if they were interested in doing something similar. mandingo32 truck is the guide I go by on how a lot of things would look, although I do like my chrome bumpers over painted like his.
