Default failed emission testing

Took the Short Bus (99 expedition 5.4l auto) down to get it inspected...no biggie my parking brakes are the strongest but shouldnt be a problem (they wernt)...no MIL light on the dash so I AssUmed everything was up to snuff...truck is running fine....hooked up to the machine of heartbreak and my MIL doesnt work and I have 3 codes stored

Evap system gross leak
cyl 1 misfire
lean condition bank 1

Any ideas guys? Ive checked the canister and the vacumn lines...doesnt seem to be anything wrong...no broken lines but I would imagine fixing the gross leak that the other two would straiten out themselves since a vacumn leak will cause a lean condition...and a lean condition will cause a misfire

Is my train of thought way off?
And I can tell you what used car dealership in pasadena to never buy from since the MIL light has never worked evidently...which means they probly defeated it.

Oh yeah before I forget i replaced the large vacumn hose assy that goes from the back of the lower intake to the pcv vavle and upper intake...50 bucks from ford..yes the computer was reset since then.

Something's not right I am an inspector in MA if a vehicle has pending codes it doesn't alter whether it passes inspection or not as long as the MIL is not lit up. Now that holds water as long as the vehicle passes the safety and visual walk around if your truck has a black E it is for emissions and a red is safety now turn the ignition on if the check gauges light or CEL turns on the bulb may be out and you just don't know but as for the Evap code check the gas cap because 9-10 times that's the culprit and if that's all good you then you have some work cut out for ya

Yeah the check engine light doesn't come on at all...oh yeah he did hook the gas cap to his machine and it did pass he said something about having a smoke test done to try to find the vacuum leak. The parking brake just needed adjustment...its good...now I just have to clear all the codes...down here on obd2 vehicles they just plug the computer to the truck they do the sniffer tests on obd1
