The FX4 wheel came out in the spring of 2001. The first FX4 wheels carries a 2001 part number 1L3Z-1007-AA which changed to 2L3Z-1007-AA. Hollinder shows them all to be 3466 wheels for interchange. If I remember right, this is when Ford was having the Explorer tire problems, that they switched one of their rim/wheel suppliers, so that might be the discrepancy in the wheel numbers. The actual FX4 wheel, was used in 2002-03 models but showed up on some late model Canadian F150's in 2001

The drawings of the wheels are from the 2001 Ford F150 parts catalog. You will see the FX4 wheel as #15 of the parts listing. Below is a listing from Detroit wheels, and gives a fairly good year to model description.

TRD Is this the wheel you have for your truck in 17's. I have one under mine as a spare, but had the original aluminum tri-bar wheels on my 98.

The spare is a 5 spoke just like the rest of the truck but no chrome cap glued on. Mine are number 9 in the picture. Heavy wheels! My trucks a '99 but I know they ran this style 'til '02 or so. Expeditions had them too.

I have a dumb question my wheels being a inch smaller than what my truck calls for with the same size tires could that cause my speedomiter to be off? According to my wife's kia soul the truck reads its going 3-5 mph faster than what her car says we are running side by side

Yes, that sounds about right. Not a dumb question. That would be at say 60 mph.

It covers XL to the KR models even though it says XLT on this listing. They show the same with each model in the parts book. These are the 16, 17 and 18's included in one listing.
Does anyone know what size the #3 wheels are 16's or 17's? I think that's what I am going to end up going with
Also can someone tell me what size tire I could run to make the difference between a 16' wheel and a 17' wheel its got 265/70/16 could I run a 285 on a 16 inch wheel and it make up the difference?

Did you get all 4 rims or just the 2 to start with? Center caps? What wheels do you have now? Pic? I ask because of the lug nuts. If you have non stock wheels you might have a tapered lug nut. Factory nuts have a big washer at the base of the nut that rotates. You need those type of lug nuts for these wheels. Notice how they have the cut flat recess. That's for the washer to spin while tightening and hold it in shape and centered. I say this, just in case you or someone else following this might not know.
