Default Factory load leveling

Any one have the factory air load leveling system on their truck? Mine was ripped out by the previous owner and i am trying to figure out how it worked so i can remove as much of the parts as possible. I might know why the owner ripped it out. If the air spring popped it is $630 each from Ford.

If they pop, you are loading way to much weight in your truck. Airbags are pretty tough. And I just ordered a set for my truck, and they were only 300 plus tax for both.
As for removing parts, there isn't that much. Just a top and bottom retainer, and then the airbag and hoses. Just looking at it, you should be able to tell whats not needed.

The previous owner cut everything at the bundle. He removed the sensors, the bag, and the brackets for the bags. He left the rear crossmember, bump stops, 3 leaf pack springs (which are a lower rating then the normal 4 leaf pack), the air pump, traction bars, and switch. I guess the only thing I am thankful for is the crossmember and traction bars but the crossmember might be removed when I install the gooseneck hitch this coming spring.
